“The Fundamental Disposition of the Christian Life: Hope”
TEXT: 1 PEter 1:13

ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICE (3.7.2021)

CALL TO WORSHIP:

Let us draw near to worship with the words of Revelation 19….

6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready.

OPENING WORSHIP:

“All Creatures of Our God and King”

worship:

“It is Well”

affirmation:

1Corinthians 4:1–10
1 Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

WORSHIP:

“Christ Our Hope In Life And Death”

communion:

“The Old Rugged Cross”

Prayer:

Jesus want to say thank you for bearing the cross, with all of its suffering and shame. You were despised by the world, rejected by your own people, abandoned by your followers, betrayed by your disciple. Yet we confess that if we had been there, we would have done no differently. Before you raised us out of our graves, we were radically opposed to you, bent on living life without you.

Yet now… you’ve given us new hearts, hearts that long to follow, not abandon you. Hearts that want to obey you no matter the cost. Hearts that want to go you outside the camp and bear the reproach you endured. For we recognize that here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come (Hebrews 13:13-14).

Christ, your suffering and death purchased for us unending happiness after death. So we long for the day that we will meet, and we pray for more sight, sight to see that suffering with you and for you in this life will last for a moment, only to be swallowed up in the bottomless joy of your eternal presence.

Take us now deeper into your Word. Open up your truth to us that we might see and understand and marvel at who you are and what you have for us. Speak over us we pray!

Amen!
