A Note From Pastor Mark:
We recognize that family worship has its unique challenges depending on your family’s size and stage of life. Therefore, we have prepared a complete worship service (below) for our entire church family because we are convinced that Sunday is so much more than a sermon. And this is one way for us to be worshiping the same way even though we are apart.
We suggest that you test the worship and sermon links before you gather your family. After you have done this, we encourage the leader of the house to read the prayers and appoint other readers as necessary to encourage greatest participation.

A Call to Spiritual Intimacy During Social Distancing

Call to Worship:
Psalm 103:1–5 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, 3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, 5 who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Opening Worship:
“All Creature of Our God and King”
Prayer:
Father, we confess that our week has been a whirlwind of complex and confusing emotions. Anxiety over the uncharted waters of self-imposed quarantine, isolation, daily supplies, personal income, retirement accounts, and future plans. Fear of infection, fear that our loved ones might be infected, and fear that our infected loved ones will not recover. Frustration that our lives are turned up-side-down and that clear information about the Coronavirus and possible cures is hard to come by.
O God, help us cast our anxieties on you utterly convinced that you love us and care for us in the big and small details of life. You are upholding the universe by the word of your power (Heb 1:3) and at the same time you know the number of hairs on our head (Matt 10:26–32), the funds in our bank accounts, and the food in our pantries. Steady our hearts in you and grant us peace so that we might be a witness to the saving power of Jesus Christ through this crisis no matter how long it lasts.
And Father, we pray for our leaders. We pray that according to the riches of your grace that you would give our president, Donald Trump and our governor, Jay Inslee supernatural wisdom to lead during this time. Help them put aside all politics so that they can serve the people of this country. Help them listen well to their advisors, ask good questions, and help them be more committed to the truth than public opinion.
We also pray for those suffering from infection right now; grant healing and give their doctors wisdom. We pray for those searching for a cure, grant them swift success for the good of all peoples and nations.
We confess that in our sin, we deserve to be destroyed. But, we find hope and peace and security in that in the promise that you will not always chide, nor will you keep your anger forever because you are merciful and gracious, slow to anger abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness (Ps 103:8–9). God we have no one but you. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea (Ps 64:1–2). In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Prayer:
Father, I pray that even though we are viewing this sermon in isolation from our brothers and sisters this morning; that you would speak to us through pastor Ryan by the power of the Holy Spirit and that you would use it for your glory in our lives. Open our ears so that we can hear, open our eyes so that we can truly see, and drive these truths deep onto our hearts so that we might understand and respond to your Holy Word. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Main Point: Jesus is the faithful Son who obeys even in the face of suffering.

Main Application Point: Jesus’ obedience kicked down the door for us to begin a journey of obedient love, no matter the cost.
