The End of Missions

The End of Missions

A NOTE FROM PASTOR MARK:

We recognize that family worship has its unique challenges depending on your family’s size and stage of life. Therefore, we have prepared a complete worship service (below) for our entire church family because we are convinced that Sunday is so much more than a sermon. And this is one way for us to be worshiping the same way even though we are apart.

We suggest that you test the worship and sermon links before you gather your family. After you have done this, we encourage the leader of the house to read the prayers and appoint other readers as necessary to encourage greatest participation.

After the sermon is over, we encourage you to discuss the sermon and ways to live out its application.

The End of missions
TEXT: revelation 7:9-10

ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICE (11.1.2020)

CALL TO WORSHIP:

Today is the second Sunday of our special missions emphasis. As we join together in worship, let’s remember that we serve the Lord who deserves the worship of all nations!

Psalms 117:1-2
1 Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.
2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.

OPENING WORSHIP:

“All Creatures of Our God and King”

“Mission’s Flame”

AFFIRMATION:

Yes Lord send us out! And send us out to proclaim what Christ has done! Let’s affirm together Christ’s saving work…..

Philippians 2:5-11
5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

WORSHIP:

“Jesus Paid It All”

“His Mercy Is More”

PRAYER:

Lord we remember today that:

  • You are “compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.”
  • You “will not always accuse, nor will you harbor your anger forever.”
  • You “do not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.”
  • “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is you love for those who fear you;”
  • “As far as the east is from the west, so far have you removed our transgressions from us.” (Taken from Psalms 103:8–12)

Lord, we celebrate the complete forgiveness that you have won for us at the cross! What an amazing gift of grace. Would you now help us to take the message of that forgiveness to the nations?!

And Lord, as your word comes, give us a vision of your purposes for us as a church. Speak to us as the savior and shepherd and king of your people. May may we see and embrace your calling. Open our hearts and minds now we pray.

Amen
