A NOTE FROM PASTOR MARK:
We recognize that family worship has its unique challenges depending on your family’s size and stage of life. Therefore, we have prepared a complete worship service (below) for our entire church family because we are convinced that Sunday is so much more than a sermon. And this is one way for us to be worshiping the same way even though we are apart.
We suggest that you test the worship and sermon links before you gather your family. After you have done this, we encourage the leader of the house to read the prayers and appoint other readers as necessary to encourage greatest participation.
After the sermon is over, we encourage you to discuss the sermon and ways to live out its application.

I Am Justified: I Am Not My Sin and Failure
TEXT: romans 5:12–19
ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICE (5.17.2020)
CALL TO WORSHIP:
Today is a day for rejoicing in the Lord! Let’s look to him now as we join in worship…
Psalms 145:2–3
2 Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. (ESV)
OPENING WORSHIP:
“You Grace Is Enough”
“Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”
prayer:
Yes, Lord, we adore you! Using the words of Psalm 145 we pray,
“We will exalt you, our God the King; we will praise your name for ever and ever. Great are you LORD and most worthy of praise; your greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty. They tell of the power of your awesome works. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.”
Yet as we glance around us we see a lot of uncertainty, frustration, suspicion, and restlessness. But when we look back to you we are reminded that,
“You, LORD are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. You are good to all; You have compassion on all you have made. You are trustworthy in all your promises and faithful in all you do.”
And though human governments may do their best, they are still flawed. Yet we never have to question your reign, for
“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. You are righteous in all your ways and faithful in all you do.”
And though many in our nation and world are needy, you have not forgotten them. Rather,
“You uphold all who fall and lift up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.”
And though your people long to be near, and to gather together,
“You are near to all who call on you, to all who call on you in truth. You fulfill the desires of those who fear you; you hear their cry and save them. You watch over all who love you.”
So we conclude,
“Our mouths will speak in praise of you, Lord! Let every creature praise your holy name for ever and ever!”
Now, Lord as we turn to look at your amazing grace, we remind ourselves that your greatest work was what you did at the cross. Sending your Son to bear the punishment of our rebellious acts, you have found a way to welcome us and set us free in your love forever!

AFFIRMATION:
Lord, we celebrate your amazing grace, grace that justifies us! Let’s read together:
Galatians 3:23
23 Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.
24 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.
25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian,
26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
WORSHIP:
Lord, because you’ve welcomed us in by grace, and not our own merit under the law, we respond with glad surrender!
“The Stand”
Prayer:
Lord, we are yours! And we surrender again to your will and your purposes. As we come to your word today, would you please have your way in us! We need our wrong thoughts about you to be torn down. We need the truths we hold so dearly to be strengthened. We need your love and grace to fill our hearts again, so that we can share them with others. Speak to us, Lord. Give us ears to receive what you have for us this day. Amen.

Main Point: If we are in Christ, we are not defined by our individual sins and failures because we have been credited with the very righteousness of Christ.
