A NOTE FROM PASTOR MARK:
We recognize that family worship has its unique challenges depending on your family’s size and stage of life. Therefore, we have prepared a complete worship service (below) for our entire church family because we are convinced that Sunday is so much more than a sermon. And this is one way for us to be worshiping the same way even though we are apart.
We suggest that you test the worship and sermon links before you gather your family. After you have done this, we encourage the leader of the house to read the prayers and appoint other readers as necessary to encourage greatest participation.
After the sermon is over, we encourage you to discuss the sermon and ways to live out its application.

CALL TO WORSHIP:
Let us look away from ourselves, our circumstances, and the world around us to gaze at the only one who is worthy of all of our praise…..
Psalm 146:1-2, 5
1 “Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!
2 I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.”
5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God.

Hebrews 1:1–4
1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

“Cornerstone”
prayer:
Oh Lord we are so thankful that we have a strong cornerstone to stand on. We thank you that we have a God who loves to uphold weak people. Your Words says that “you lift up those who are bowed down” (Psalm 146:5). Through the storms of life we know that you will be with us, you will strengthen us, you will uphold us (Is 41:10).
It is easy lose sight of hope in a world that is reeling from the effects of the virus, in a world that is still ripe with the pain of injustice, in a world that is confused about gender identity. It is easy to lose hope when there is constant bickering between political parties and leaders or when well meaning Christians disagree about how to get involved in such a broken world.
But in spite of all the reasons that it would be normal to give up hope, Lord, you have given us more reasons to be filled with hope. And your resurrection is the cornerstone of our hope!
Truly you defeated death when you were raised to life. Now we can say ” ‘O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?’ ” (1 Corinthians 15:55). In a world of decay and disagreement and disease, we can joyfully say, this is not the end! You have entered into our world and brought the hope of new life, new life that begins now and extends forever into eternity.
And the fact that you are alive, and not dead, means that forever we have your presence to go with us into the difficulties we face. You draw near to us and help us again and again. Your grace will always uphold us, no matter how dark things may get.
So we say, “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” Psalms 121:1-4
Lord, you are not slumbering or sleeping, you are alive! And we will continue to lift up our eyes to you, trusting in your goodness in the midst of this fallen world.

prayer:
Your Word instructs us in the way we should go. Your Word convicts us of sin, and leads us to repentance. Your Word makes us wise for salvation (2 Timothy 3:15). Your Word comforts us when we are afraid and hurting and sick and lost. Your Word points us toward full and lasting joy (John 15:11). Your Word reveals who you are, granting us a glimpse of your majesty!
Oh, Lord as we turn to your Word, speak over us again! Give us hearts that are ready to receive it!
