WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Romans 6:3-5
What is baptism? Water baptism is mentioned several places in the New Testament, but perhaps the verses that explain it best are found in Romans 6:3-4. Beyond that simple description, what water baptism is can be summarized in three ways.
1. Baptism is a symbol of something very special to the believer in Jesus.
2. Baptism is a visible and tangible testimony of saving faith in Jesus.
3. Baptism is an act of obedience for those who are devoted followers of Jesus.
The Big Idea: Water baptism is a visible testimony of saving faith in Jesus for every Jesus follower.
