Always Pray and Don’t Lose Heart

Always Pray and Don’t Lose Heart

A NOTE FROM PASTOR MARK:

We recognize that family worship has its unique challenges depending on your family’s size and stage of life. Therefore, we have prepared a complete worship service (below) for our entire church family because we are convinced that Sunday is so much more than a sermon. And this is one way for us to be worshiping the same way even though we are apart.

We suggest that you test the worship and sermon links before you gather your family. After you have done this, we encourage the leader of the house to read the prayers and appoint other readers as necessary to encourage greatest participation.

After the sermon is over, we encourage you to discuss the sermon and ways to live out its application.

ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICE (9.6.2020)

CALL TO WORSHIP:

As we come to worship today, let’s join the heavenly throng in declaring how worthy Jesus is…

Revelation 5:12-13
““Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!””
““To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!””

OPENING WORSHIP:

“This is Amazing Grace”

“Jesus Paid It All”

affirmation:

Romans 5:6-11
6   For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Worship:

“How Deep the Father’s Love”

“His Mercy is More”

prayer:

Lord we celebrate your mercy today. As Lamentations says “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22–23).

Oh God we see in the cross the perfect mercy and justice of God on display. Sin was punished, but the one who had sinned was set free. What a wonderful gospel, what a wonderful message. Would you cause our hearts to continue to appreciate the depth of your mercy and kindness to us?

We ask “that according to the riches of your glory you may grant us to be strengthened with power through your Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith—that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:16–19).

And as we turn to your Word, we ask that you would use it in our lives. Let not your word return empty, but let it accomplish the purpose for which you send it (Isaiah 55:11). We offer our hearts and minds to you now. Speak clearly to us, show us who you are, show us our need for you, show us how we can come to you.

Amen.
