“The Foundation of Our Hope”
TEXT: 1 PEter 1:3

ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICE (1.17.2021)

CALL TO WORSHIP:

As we draw near to worship, we remember that regardless of our circumstances we have reason to bless the Lord! Psalms 113 says….

Psalms 113:2    Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore!
3 From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised!

OPENING WORSHIP:

“Blessed Be Your Name”

WORSHIP:

“Behold Our God”

AFFIRMATION:

Revelation 7:9-12
9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

WORSHIP:

“O God of Our Salvation”

“Living Hope”

Prayer:

O Lord, we again cry out: “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:10). You are the one who has saved us and caused us to leave behind despair and forever embrace hope, hope that comes through your promises!

You promised that, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
And you promised that, “whoever comes to you, you will never cast out.” (John 6:37)
And you promised that for all those who come to you, “you will raise them up on the last day.” (John 6:44)

Truly our hope extends beyond this life. It goes beyond the grave because through your death and resurrection, you conquered sin and death and promised to raise us up to eternal life forever in your presence.  Though all the worldly supports for our happiness crumble around us, we still have this living hope.

Jesus, we put our trust in you, you are the God of our salvation.

And as your Word comes, we leave the full weight of our needs and cares and concerns at your feet.  Would you quiet our hearts and open our minds to receive your truth? Give us the grace to hear and see what you have for us today.

Amen!
