ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICE (1.3.2021)
CALL TO WORSHIP:
As we being a new year together it is appropriate to begin with thanksgiving and praise. Let’s response to this call from Isaiah 12…..
4 “Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.
5 “Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.
OPENING WORSHIP:
“All Creatures of Our God and King”
WORSHIP:
“O Praise the Name”
AFFIRMATION:
Romans 5:6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
WORSHIP:
“Yet Not I But Christ Through Me”
“Before The Throne Of God Above”
PRAYER:
Lord we trust not in our deeds, in our own righteousness, to make us right with you. We say with Paul, that we do not have “a righteousness of our own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith” (Philippians 3:9). Only your blood could make us right. Only your blood could cleanse our sins.
In the same way that your love overflowed on the cross, making its way toward sinners, would you now “cause our love to abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ” (Phil 1:9-10). As you have loved us, may we now continue to share that love with others.
As we turn now to hear your Word, we are asking for help….help to listen and take to heart what you are saying to us today….help to respond to it appropriately, applying it to our lives….help to see the splendor and majesty of Jesus in this passage. Your Word is precious and delightful. Come now during this time and speak to us.
Amen!
