A NOTE FROM PASTOR MARK:
We recognize that family worship has its unique challenges depending on your family’s size and stage of life. Therefore, we have prepared a complete worship service (below) for our entire church family because we are convinced that Sunday is so much more than a sermon. And this is one way for us to be worshiping the same way even though we are apart.
We suggest that you test the worship and sermon links before you gather your family. After you have done this, we encourage the leader of the house to read the prayers and appoint other readers as necessary to encourage greatest participation.
After the sermon is over, we encourage you to discuss the sermon and ways to live out its application.
The “Righteous” Pagans and the Rebellious Prophet

Let’s turn our hearts toward the Lord, placing our hope in him…..
“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption.”

confession and affirmation:
Even as we confess together that we long for God to give us clean hands and a pure heart we acknowledge the fact that we have sinned this week. None of us have loved the Lord as we ought, with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. So let’s pause here and confess our sins individually to the Lord, then we’ll come back together to read from 1 John……
1John 1:6–2:2
6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

prayer:
O Lord we confess that we are weak and needy, and that you are strong self-sufficient. Our only hope is that you would grant us a gift, the gift of your Son Jesus. We needed undeserved favor, and only he could earn that for us. We needed forgiveness of sins, and only he could pay the price so that we could be released. We needed to be righteous before you, and only he could provide us with a flawless record of obedience.
We stand here today having been given everything we need in the person of Jesus. We confess that he is our hope, our only way of salvation, our true and lasting treasure.
To Jesus we run, clinging to him for all the strength we need to press on. We thank you that though “the night is dark,” we are not forsaken. You’ve promised to walk us through the hardest times that we face. You said you “would never leave us nor forsake us” (Hebrews 13:5). Help us to lean more deeply upon you and upon those in your body that you’ve given to us to walk with.
You made the promise that for all who are weary and heavy laden you would give rest if they would come to you and learn of you (Matthew 11:28). We come to you now for this rest, asking that your Word would deliver us from the things that keep us from finding rest. Set us free from sinful habits and attitudes. Renew our minds so that we may think your thoughts after you and be transformed. Give us the ability to receive your Word with gladness, and may it take root in our hearts and bear fruit many times over.
